We would like to introduce you to our new, unique concept Tripod, which provides an amazing space for all your glamping needs.
Tripod is a sectional building, made of six triangular sections, which, when bolted together at the apexes, forms a strong, unique ands attractive structure. Where the outer space combines with the inner space, a spacious and tranquil interior is provided, ideal for glamping accommodation or alternative use.
The interior space is provided with natural lighting from the windows, incorporated into the triangular sections, which are glazed sealed units. Each sectional panel is fully insulated and weather proof sealed.
Each Tripod unit is:
Tripod units can be connected together to form larger accommodation and can be kitted out by ourselves to suit your intended use. Tripod units can be supplied ready to plug into the mains or fitted with solar panels, in order to be used off-grid.
If you have any interest in Tripod, we would be happy to discuss your individual needs further and answer any questions.
Pods can be kitted out to suit your intended use. As an office, a studio, guest room, games room, glamping, or tiny home.
Over the years as a furniture designer I have been making structures. Beginning at the Royal college of art in 1970 I was fascinated by geometric shapes and how they can be constructed using simple jointing methods. At the time I didn't know how or what I would do with these structures but in the back of my mind I knew that some day they would make good spaces for buildings.
Through much experimentation and through models I arrived at a design and construction that I liked, six triangles which join together at the apex to make a truncated octahedron, then panels with insulation windows and doors fit into the main frame to complete the pod. I worked for one and a half years at a social enterprize teaching the unemployed woodworking skills. During which time I met many people who had been homeless, this got me thinking again how to build tiny pod homes. I built a small version which was a play house for children which allowed me to try out the construction and work on the details; it worked.
So the next stage was scaling up to make a prototype with a livable space which I was able to do outside my workshop. The construction went well, the internal space was roomy and cosy and the pods can be joined together to create a larger living space. I've since developed some more designs which are simpler and cheaper to produce.
I would still like to see them developed for the homeless or for people just needing a simple affordable home. There are political and social hurdles to overcome though which I'm sure could be overcome.
These simpler and smaller versions of our pods offer convenient and space-saving solutions for any accommodation requirement. All pods are modular so they can be joined together to make a number of different configurations.
